Last week four Auckland university students🎓 came to Paihia School to show us some science experiments. They showed us elephant toothpaste, rainbow liquids and the list goes on. After that we had a science rotation, our first science thing was testing the water with Caitlyn. Next we went to Te Ngahere to make the lense of our chromebooks that takes photos with Taiyo. Then we went to Juan to make rainbow lights in a box finally we went to Nina to make rockets. It was a blast.

Pet day

This term Paihia School had a pet day. Pet day is when children with permission bring their pets to school. There were dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and this year crayfish. We made decorated cookies, vaseline saucers and arranged a novelty container to get judged. We also made A&P posters. My favourites were the vaseline saucers.

Swim safety

A couple of weeks ago in Te Maunga we went to a water safety lesson in our whare.
We learnt five important rules: never swim alone, always tell someone you’re going swimming,
bring a boogie board, check the weather and tell someone what time you will be back from swimming.
Never ever rely on a teenager to supervise you because they might get distracted with electronics and
not watch you properly.
