Wonderful maths

In Te Ngahere we have been learning about the area and perimeter of a shape. The area is is the space a shape covers up like if I placed a piece of paper on a floor its how much space the piece of paper took up. The perimeter is the distance of the shape. I enjoyed cutting out the shapes and tracing around them in our maths group so that we could measure the number of squares it took up. Thanks for reading and I hope you learnt something.

Awesome writing

In Te Ngahere we have been learning about using passive voice in our writing. I enjoyed learning something new because I want to make my writing more interesting. I found it challenging to use passive voice. Passive voice is when you don’t use I, me and we. Here is my writing. Can you please give me feedback to improve my Writing doc?

What do you know about water safety?

What do you know about water safety? Yesterday Tracy came in and explained to us about boat safety and swim safety. We were I forgot how important it is to know how to use the emergency equipment. I learnt these five rules about boat safety and swim safe: Next time I go out on a boat i’m going to check the safety gear. Can you please give me feedback to improve this post?

STEAM

In Te Ngahere we have been making newspaper towers.
Zara was my buddy. We had two sheets of newspaper
and 30cm of tape. We had to create the tallest
freestanding tower. What didn’t work was the stand we
added to try make the tower stable because it was not
strong enough.  What did work was the handle we added
to give it extra height because it was not that tall. What
was hard was trying to get the base to stay circlular.
Once we got the base to be a circlular it was way easier
to add height. I think I worked well with my group because
we collaborated. Next time we could make our base more
stable and try to add some more height using the loops.
